THE FIVE MOST DANGEROUS WORDS IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE (Part One)
On March 31st, James Carville, long-time Democratic Party adviser, rather confidently predicted to CNN that “within thirty days” the disastrous Trump regime would collapse. Carville predicted it would be “particularly” a collapse in public opinion, as the regime would crumble under the weight of its own follies. Ostensibly this already appears to be happening. “The Republican party flat out sucks at governing,” Carville wrote in an op-ed piece for the New York Times on February 25th.
Well, Mr. Carville, you’re right. But that isn’t saying much: Democrats also flat-out suck at governing. In some ways, Dimmies probably suck even more at governing than the Rethuglicans. But we’ll let you finish.
“For Round 2 in office,” Carville writes, “instead of prioritizing the problems he campaigned on — public safety, immigration and the border and, most of all, the economy — President Trump is hellbent on dismantling the federal government.”
Carville called it right: Trump’s already started to fuck up everything so badly that white Americans, that most apathetic of people in the entire developed world, have now taken to the streets of most major American cities, and some are even screaming for Chief Cheeto’s head. (Non-white Americans, for the most part, have decided to sit these protests out, but again, I’ll get to that later.)
“To accomplish this, he has put his faith in the most incompetent cabinet in modern history: a health and human services secretary who is already targeting federal vaccination efforts and dumped a bear carcass in Central Park as a fun prank at age 60, a director of national intelligence who was devoted to an allegedly abusive yoga-centered cult, a W.W.E. tycoon turned head of Department of Education and a former cable news talking head as defense secretary. Which will result in one clear thing: disorder. There will probably be more enormous tax cuts for the wealthy and Medicaid cuts hitting a lot of other people, but there is nothing the American public despises more than disorder and a broken economy.”
Again: Carville’s right. Disorder is precisely what we are seeing at this very moment. Disorder in order. Just like the last time but on steroids and bath salts, and everything dialed up to a billion. And in the end (keeping the previous Trump regime in mind) none of it will amount to much except a heap of ruin. How badly the Orange Ofay will fuck things up remains to be seen.
In clear-sighted retrospect, the previous Trump administration really hadn’t amounted to very much at all. This in spite of all of its windy rhetorical blustering and redneck, honky showboating. All Trumpy did was give America a little taste of what he usually does to his business ventures. In 2019 Michael Wolff, author of “Siege: Trump Under Fire” made his own predictions on CNN as to how the first Trump regime would have ended. He described “Trump-World” as an “emotionally crazy place” where logic “has long since left.” (Needless to say, the logic never returned.)
Steve Bannon, one of the head crackpots of the MAGA movement, stated that even he couldnt count the number of times that Trump looked him in his eyes and “lied right to his face.” And armed with that information Wolff predicted that Trump’s first administraton would collapse “in tears.”
Steve Bannon himself once scoffed at the prospect of a second Trump term. Yet here we are, barely 100 days into the second term of a regime so crazed and delusional that the White House is tweeting in caps: “we will find you and we will kill you.” And contrary to what Wolff had predicted, the previous administration did not collapse in tears; it went out with a literal bang with four people dead during an attempted coup.
We all know what happened after the Capitol Chimpout, and what the Democratic party did not do. Suffice it to say, their apathy concerning Trump echoed that of the German chancellory regarding Hitler after his attempted Beer Hall Putsch on November 9, 1923. Like Dumb Donald, Hitler failed. Unlike Dumb Donald, Hitler was actually arrested, tried for treason and sentenced to five years in the Landsberg Prison, during which he dictated Mein Kampf and wound up serving a paltry nine months — partly because during his trial, he was able to play upon the emotions of the jury by insisting that his putsch was done in the name of the greater good for Germany. Donald Trump, on the other hand, had “articles of impeachment” brought against him for the second time — a week after the Capitol Chimpout of January 6th, 2021. After a month of bullshit deliberations, Dumb Donald was acquitted by the Senate.
On May 30, 2024, with the Democrats fully under control of the government, Donnie was found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. Nobody bothered to throw his ass either in jail or in the Potomac, which is where he belonged, preferably with concrete boots. Rather, we saw him at press conferences, sitting with Obama, with Clinton and a few of the other kakistocrats of Washington, cracking little jokes and making small talk. (A few months later, after a lame and childishly performative sham election, Trump won a second term, and today the only “tears” being shed on Team Trump are by his gullible and stupid supporters, who realize that they’ve been hoodwinked, and who are terrified of what’s to come.)
The gullible, racist hayseeds who voted for this clown are right to be fearful, even if many or most of them are still holding out for him. When the White House tweets “WE WILL FIND YOU, AND WE WILL KILL YOU,” the hayseeds are starting to think, “maybe they mean us” or “these guys have gone off the rails.” Both are completely true: they have gone way, way off the rails. And the “you” in question is indeed “you” if you don’t toe the line.
We already know they’re not being hyperbolic because historically, this white kakisrocracy has been “finding” and “killing” people, both from within and without the United States, for centuries. They are simply making very plain what they’ve been doing since the very inception of the American republic, so this “you” in question means more than simply one of America’s many made-up “enemies” outside the United States.
These “enemies” were defined in Project 2025 as simply anyone opposed to the kooky and Mein Kampfish agenda that the Heritage Foundation iterated in their 900-plus page manifesto. This “Mandate for Leadership,” as they call it, is described by wikipedia as a “historical political initiative to reshape the federal government and consolidate executive power in favor of right-wing policies” — in other words, a fascist takeover.
Elon Musk made it clear what Project 2025 meant when, during a celebration rally at Capitol One, he gave two Nazi salutes back to back. “My heart goes out to you. It is thanks to you that the future of civilization is assured,” he spluttered just after putting so much energy into these salutes that he literally bit his lip and grunted like a warthog. In the following days, weeks and months, people began to see far more of Musk than they’d hoped as Elon, with gleeful cruelty in his beady little pig eyes, began “cutting food banks, school meals, and programs” all across rural, suburban and urban America.
Musk falsely claimed that Social Security and federal benefit programs were “rife with fraud,” and proposed slashing up to 700 billion dollars in “waste” from said federal programs — that is, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, and any other benefit program that made him “angry.” His Department of Government Efficiency (a nod to his “failed” crypto Ponzi scheme DOGE) proceeded to lay off 280,253 federal workers across twenty-seven agencies, according to a report by the career services firm Challenger, Gray and Christmas.
Layoffs spiked 60% in March, 2025; 79% of these layoffs were a result of DOGE actions. “The DOGE cuts have led to backlash even from some Republican lawmakers who have aired concerns that Musk has gone about the cuts in an insensitive and disorganized nature. In some cases, agencies attempting to rehire employees have said they’ve had trouble getting in touch with the terminated personnel, because their email access was cut off.”(1)
There has been a 624% increase in government layoffs compared to the first quarter of 2024, to which Elon has responded by saying, in effect, “we’re making a few mistakes, but it’s all for the greater good: draining the dismal swamp of Marxist government corruption.” This is the gist of what he’s been blathering about since becoming the real president of the United States. (Just a few days ago, the Dow Jones fell by 2,231 points, ending the worst week for US stocks since the COVID pandemic. The reason for the slump, of course, lay with Trump, and his clueless 34% tariff imposed on China; China countered with its own 34% reciprocal tariffs on U.S. goods, triggering the collapse of the stock market.)
But what has been most revealing about all this chaos — the DOGE excrescence on Capitol Hill (an old excrescence in its own right), the mass firing of government workers and the mass hiring of 19-year old fascist techies to run the DOGE excrescence (most of whom are from India), the absurd Oval Office minstrel show put on between Trump, the despicable J.D. Vance and Vlodymyr Zelenskyy (because Zelenskyy was “ungrateful” and “wasn’t wearing a suit”), another absurd Oval Office minstrel show put on between Trump, Musk and his little brat (improbably named XÆ A-Xii) who proceeded to wipe his boogers on the Presidential desk and whisper out loud to Trump, “you are not the President and you need to go away” — is the toothless reaction of the American people, particularly those who consider themselves liberals, aka “democrats.” “There’s nothing Democrats can legitimately do to stop (this insanity), even if we wanted to,” wrote James Carville.
And armed with this information, Carville confidentally proclaimed that the Democratic party’s best strategy is “to embark on the most daring political manuver in the history of our party: roll over and play dead. Allow the Republicans to crumble beneath their own weight and make the American people miss us.”
Really?
“The Army has a term for this: tactical pause,” Carville continues. “It’s a vision move — get out of the hour-to-hour, day-to-day combat where one side (ours) is largely playing defense and struggling to defend politically charged positions (like explaining D.E.I. or persuading voters to care about foreign aid) and take time to regroup, look forward and make decisions about where we want to get to over the next two years.”
At which point, Carville admits what many of us on the ground have been saying about the Democratic Party: it’s useless. “Our Democratic voters are tired of watching us moan and groan to cover up our impotency out of power. They want us to be smarter than that.”
Sometime in the late seventies, the American Cancer Society ran a very simple but chilling ad in American newspapers. The headline simply read:
Contrary to what they claimed in 1979, The American Cancer Society had no more intention of “curing cancer in your lifetime” than the Democratic Party, or any other group of American liberals, has any intention of doing away with the current political cancer sitting in the White House. In fact we know they didn’t cure shit. Physical cancer today is second only to heart disease in being the number one killer of Americans. But it’s just a physical symptom (along with heart disease) of a disease which is at the very core of American (and by extension, Western) civilization. The entire social, political, cultural, geopolitical and industrial order is thoroughly rotten. It has to go.
